The
Church is known as "The Church in the Pinewoods". It truly
has a very picturesque setting; much in favour as the ideal church
for a wedding and the associated photographs. This is particularly
true in early and late spring when first of all the snowdrops appear,
then the primroses and daffodils, followed in turn by the bluebells.
The sunlight and the early morning mists, the changing patterns
of branches and leaves as the seasons transform the woodland scenery,
all add to its attractiveness.. The seats provide our visitors with
an opportunity to just sit and enjoy the trees, the birds, the flowers,
and yes, the peace. It really is a place of great beauty - a place
of great blessing. |

Since
the Woodland Workshop began, when we were clearing the site for
the building of the Meeting Room, lots of changes have taken place
and lots of people who helped have grown older and yes, some have
departed from this life. But the woodland still grows on, and
will continue to do so!
Paths
have been created, seats have been put in place, wild flowers
have been transplanted, new daffodils have been planted, new trees
have been planted, bat boxes and bird boxes have been put in place.

| We
are now part of the new Sefton Coastal Forest which in turn is
part of the Mersey Forest and we are receiving valuable advice
from both these organisations as well as from our old friends,
the Sefton Coast and Countryside Management Scheme.
On the practical
side, we are thinning our sycamore saplings to encourage regrowth
of flora of the woodland floor and to prepare for replanting with
pine trees to provide food for our red squirrel population.
