St. Luke Formby, Flower Festival - 16 to 18 April 2009

We are very lucky with the location of St. Luke's Church. It is in the edge of pinewoods that separate the church from sand dunes and the beach.

In the early months of the year we see progressive signs of New Life through the nature that surrounds us. These include red squirrels, a variety of birds and flowers.

From January onwards the church grounds abound with flowers. First snowdrops, then daffodils and later bluebells predominate but other varieties are also present.

The flower festival, with a theme of New Life, is to be held in spring so that it may benefit from its surroundings and so that visitors to the festival may also enjoy the nearby sand dunes and beach. We invite you to visit our flower festival, take some refreshments in our meeting room and if you have time to enjoy the beauty of the Formby coast.

Admission to the flower festival and concert is free, but we ask for donations that match your enjoyment of the events.

All proceeds will be used to help bring new life to people in Formby, Lima (Peru) and Shyira (Rwanda).

Posters for the flower festival and concert may be downloaded:
